Mystic Market Project

Geographically expanding a highly popular, New England-located prepared food retailer

Our expansion vehicle is a prepared foods concept in Connecticut, Mystic Market, which has sells delicious “take and bake” fresh and frozen prepared foods at moderate prices in small, free-standing stores.

Mystic Market started in 1993 as a sandwich/salads/baked goods offering that has evolved to a “Gourmet to Go” model, first in its most recent Old Saybrook store and now in its Westport and Boston openings, that prepares and retails a broad selection of a broad variety of high quality prepared foods to take home and re-heat: it offers “Delicious Prepared Food at a Modest Price”, and uses the sandwich/salad/baked goods fare to maximize store foot traffic and, therefore, even more sales of higher profit "gourmet to go" items.

At present the system has three stores open, with Old Saybrook being the most focused on "gourmet to go" and two more under construction, likewise "gourmet to go" focused, that will open in the second half of 2018. We envision an additional five "gourmet to go" focused stores being slated for development in the Greater New York area in 2019, followed by Main Line Philadelphia, suburban Washington D.C. and potentially Florida shortly thereafter.

This initial investment program (20 expansion stores, $8MM, IPO exit) is ready to launch. For additional details contact Robert Emerson (Contacts tab).
